What a wonderful experience today in the Banyule Flats sponsored by Warringal Conservation Society – A Guided walk with Eucalyptus expert Vicky Shukuroglou co-author of the ACE Guide to Eucalyptus of Melbourne.
Vicky took 60 of us on such a journey of discovery of so much more than the incredible world of Eucalypts.
We immersed ourselves in the interconnectedness of all aspects of the natural world.
Vicky was discussing the interconnectedness of flora & fauna. Just as she mentioned the importance of eucalypts in hosting mistletoe, and the importance of mistletoe in hosting creatures such as the beautiful Jezebel Butterfly, James Deane, our president looking through his binoculars, discovered the emergence of the butterflies from their pupa at the exact same time. Here is a photo I took a little bit later on showing them fully emerged.
